What’s It Actually Like Having You With Us on Our Wedding Day?

You’ll spend more time with your photographer than almost any other vendor on your wedding day. They’ll be there while you’re getting ready, during family photos, throughout your portraits and often right until the dance floor fills up. It’s worth knowing not just how they take photographs, but what it’s like to have them by your side.

We’re pretty calm people, and that tends to help the atmosphere around us stay calm too.

Our job isn’t to rush you or make the day feel like one long photo shoot. We’ll give direction when it’s helpful, keep things moving when they need to, and step back when the moment belongs to you.

Because there are two of us, we can often be in different places at the same time. Ali will usually start with one partner while Bruce photographs the other. Later, one of us may be organizing family photos while the other quietly documents everything happening around us.

If a dress needs fixing, a boutonniere needs straightening or family members need gathering, we’re happy to help. When something meaningful is unfolding naturally, we’ll simply let it.

Our goal is for you to enjoy your wedding day, not spend it thinking about your photographers.

When it’s time for portraits, we’ll guide you with simple prompts and easy direction instead of stiff poses. We keep things moving, keep the mood relaxed and never leave you wondering what to do next.

The goal isn’t to hold uncomfortable poses or force smiles. We’d rather create genuine expressions that reflect who you are together.

Before every engagement session, couples often share inspiration with us. We talk it through—and then we put it aside. Once we’re photographing, our attention shifts to the people in front of us. We’d rather respond to who you are than spend the day recreating someone else’s photographs.

If You’ve Never Photographed at Our Venue Before, How Do You Prepare So You Know Exactly What You’re Walking Into?

Every wedding is different, even at the same venue. The season, the light, your timeline and your priorities all shape the way the day is photographed.

That’s why we prepare for every wedding individually.

If we’re photographing somewhere new, we’ll research the venue ahead of time, study the layout, identify portrait locations and look for anything that could affect your timeline. Whenever possible, we’ll also arrive early to walk the property ourselves before everything begins.

Leading up to your wedding, we’ll work through your questionnaire together so we understand what’s most important to you. If you’re working with a planner or coordinator, we’ll connect with them too so everyone is working from the same plan.

Preparation isn’t about memorizing a venue. It’s about arriving with a plan while staying flexible enough to adapt when the weather changes, the timeline shifts or the unexpected happens.

Whether it’s our first time at your venue or our tenth, we’ll arrive prepared so you can relax, be present and enjoy your wedding day.

Could We See a Few Complete Wedding Galleries From Start to Finish, Not Just Your Favourite Images?

We’re always happy to share full galleries from weddings similar to yours. Whether you’re getting married at a golf club, a resort, on a private property or planning a more intimate celebration, we’ll do our best to show you a wedding that reflects the kind of day you’re planning.

As you look through a complete gallery, don’t just focus on the portraits. Pay attention to the quieter moments. The anticipation while you’re getting ready. Family interactions. The details you’ve spent months planning. The ceremony. The reception. Everything in between.

You’re looking for consistency. Do the photographs still feel thoughtful when the light changes, the weather shifts or the reception gets dark? Does the story feel complete from beginning to end? That’s what a full gallery reveals.

About How Many Photos Do You Typically Deliver, and How Do You Decide Which Images Make the Final Gallery?

After investing so much into your wedding day, it’s natural to wonder what you’ll receive when everything is said and done. Every wedding is different.

The number of photographs we deliver depends on the length of your coverage, the size of your guest list and everything that unfolds throughout the day. A full-day celebration with multiple locations and a lively dance floor will naturally produce more images than an intimate afternoon wedding.

For a typical eight-hour wedding, you can expect to receive more than 400 carefully edited photographs. Rather than working toward a specific number, we’re focused on telling the complete story of your wedding.

That means the moments that matter most, the portraits you’ll proudly display, the details you spent months planning and the candid interactions that often become your favourites years later.

As we curate your gallery, we remove duplicates, test shots, blinks and any images that don’t add something meaningful. Every photograph you receive has been individually reviewed and professionally edited.

When your gallery is ready, you’ll receive every curated image in three versions: True Colour, Custom Toned and Black & White.

Some moments feel perfect in colour. Others take on a completely different emotion in black and white. Rather than asking you to choose one style, you’ll already have all three. When your gallery arrives, it should feel complete. One that tells the story of your day honestly and lets you relive it for years to come.

Once We Receive Our Photos, What Can We Do With Them? Can We Print Them, Share Them With Family and Friends, Post Them Online, and What Images Might You Use for Your Own Portfolio or Social Media?

Once your photographs are delivered, they’re yours to enjoy. You’re welcome to download them, print them, share them with family and friends, and post them on your personal social media accounts.

The only thing we ask is that the images aren’t altered with filters or additional editing. Every photograph has been carefully edited to reflect the work we’ve created together.vIf you share your photos online, we always appreciate a tag when you can. It helps friends and family discover who photographed your wedding, and we’re incredibly grateful for every recommendation.

Like most professional photographers, we retain the copyright to the images. That’s standard within the photography industry and allows us to share selected photographs on our website, social media and in our portfolio.If there’s ever a photograph or circumstance where you’d prefer your images not be shared publicly, just let us know. We’re happy to have that conversation.

Your online gallery is connected directly to our professional print lab, Pikto, where you can order professional-quality prints, albums and wall art. We stand behind every product ordered through Pikto. If there’s ever an issue, we’ll work with you to make it right.

You’re also welcome to print your photographs at a lab of your choice using the personal print release included with your gallery. The only difference is that we can’t guarantee the colour accuracy, print quality or materials used by third-party labs, which is why we recommend Pikto if preserving the quality of your images is especially important.

We Chose Our Vendor Team Carefully. How Do You Work Alongside Planners, Videographers, DJs, Florists and Everyone Else to Help the Day Run Smoothly? Do You Also Share Images With the Other Vendors Afterward?

The best wedding days happen when everyone is working together.

When we arrive, one of the first things we do is introduce ourselves to your vendor team and connect with your planner or coordinator. We make sure we’re all working from the same timeline, understand any updates to the day and know who’s responsible for what.

Throughout the day, we stay in communication with the people around us. Whether it’s your planner, videographer, DJ, florist, officiant or venue staff, we’re all working toward the same goal: giving you the best experience possible.

Sometimes that means stepping aside so another vendor can do their job. Other times it means coordinating the timing of a special moment or giving someone a heads-up before the next part of the day begins. Most couples never notice those conversations happening, and that’s usually a good thing.

After your wedding, we also love supporting the people who helped bring your celebration to life. Whenever possible, we share photographs with your vendors so they can showcase the work they created, whether that’s beautiful florals, thoughtful planning, incredible décor or an unforgettable reception.

Great vendor relationships help create a smoother experience for everyone, especially you.

How Long Does It Usually Take to Receive Our Wedding Gallery? Is Your Current Turnaround Time Different During Your Busiest Season?

Waiting for your wedding photos can feel like one of the longest parts of the entire experience. That’s why we like to keep you connected to your wedding day while we’re carefully editing the rest of your gallery.

Within 24 to 48 hours, we’ll send you up to 10 sneak peek images directly to you. We always want you to be the first to see them, so unless you’ve asked us otherwise, we wait a little longer before sharing any of those photographs on our own social media.

If you’ve booked an engagement session with us, you can expect that gallery within 7 to 10 business days. Your fully edited wedding gallery is typically delivered within 4 to 6 weeks. If your collection includes Ceremony & Toasts coverage, those films are delivered within the same timeframe.

We intentionally limit the number of weddings we photograph each season so every couple receives the time and attention their photographs deserve. Every image is carefully reviewed, edited and curated so that when your gallery arrives, it feels complete, cohesive and worth the wait.

Life Happens. What If Our Wedding Needs to Be Postponed or Cancelled? And What Happens If You Have an Emergency and Can’t Photograph Our Wedding?

No one plans for the unexpected, but knowing your photographer has a plan can provide real peace of mind.

If your wedding needs to be postponed or cancelled, we’ll work with you in accordance with the terms outlined in your contract and do everything we reasonably can to make the process as smooth as possible.

We’ve also planned for the unexpected on our end. While we’ve never had to miss a wedding because of illness or an emergency, we believe having a contingency plan is simply part of running a professional business.

For our full wedding collections, we photograph every wedding together as a two-photographer team. If an unforeseen emergency ever prevented one of us from attending, we have a trusted network of experienced professional photographers who can step in if needed.

For our micro weddings and single-photographer collections, Bruce is typically your lead photographer, with Ali serving as his backup should an emergency arise. We also carry business liability insurance and have contingency plans in place should the unexpected happen.

We hope we never need them, but we’d much rather have a plan in place than leave something as important as your wedding day to chance.

If We Needed to Cancel Our Booking, How Does That Work? Is Any of Our Retainer Refundable, and What Should We Expect?

Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn, and difficult decisions have to be made.

If you need to cancel your booking, we simply ask that you let us know as soon as possible. The earlier we’re aware, the sooner we can begin working through the next steps with you.

Your retainer is non-refundable because it reserves your wedding date exclusively for you. Once your booking is confirmed, we stop offering that date to other couples. Any payments you’ve made beyond your retainer will be refunded in accordance with the terms of your contract.

If your wedding is being postponed rather than cancelled, we’ll always do our best to work with you. We will happily transfer your booking, if we’re available on your new date. If we’re already committed elsewhere, we’ll talk through the available options and do everything we reasonably can to help. We’ll always have an honest conversation, explain exactly what to expect and guide you through the process with as much clarity and compassion as possible.

What Equipment Do You Bring With You on a Wedding Day? Is There Anything About the Way You Photograph, Whether It’s Digital, Film or the Lenses You Use, That Influences the Look and Feel of Your Images?

Professional equipment matters, but it’s only part of the story.

We use professional camera equipment that’s built to perform in the fast-paced, ever-changing conditions of a wedding day. Bruce also works as a commercial photographer, so creating consistent, high-quality images in all kinds of lighting is second nature.

We each carry two professional camera bodies, a wide range of lenses and professional lighting equipment, allowing us to photograph everything from sweeping landscapes and emotional ceremony moments to intimate portraits and energetic receptions.

Just as importantly, we have backups for everything, including cameras, lenses, lighting, batteries, memory cards and accessories. If something fails, we keep photographing without missing a moment.

The equipment helps us work confidently in almost any situation. What makes your photographs meaningful are the people, the emotions and the moments that unfold throughout your wedding day. Our job is to be ready when they happen.

The Right Questions Lead to the Right Photographer

A wedding photography consultation isn’t about finding someone with all the right answers. It’s about finding someone who feels like the right fit.

By the end of your conversation, you should feel comfortable asking questions, confident in how they work and excited about having them by your side.
