So…When Should You Book Your Ontario Wedding Photographer?
One of the first questions we hear after a couple gets engaged is, “When should we book our photographer?”

The answer is usually sooner than you think.
If you’re getting married during Ontario’s busiest wedding season, especially between June and mid-October, many photographers begin booking dates a year or more in advance. We’ve also seen a noticeable increase in full-day Friday weddings, and those dates are disappearing faster than they used to. Holiday weekends are another popular choice, so if you’re planning a Thanksgiving, Halloween or New Year’s Eve celebration, it’s worth reaching out as soon as you’ve secured your venue
Booking early isn’t just about availability. It gives you time to ask questions, build a relationship and feel confident you’ve found the right people to tell your story.
Booking Early Gives You More Than a Reserved Date
Your wedding photographer is one of the few vendors who’ll be with you for almost your entire wedding day.
We’ll be there while you’re getting ready, during your first look, your ceremony, family photographs, portraits, speeches and first dances. We’ll also quietly capture the moments you didn’t even realize were happening until you see them in your gallery.
Choosing a photographer in Ontario isn’t just about beautiful photographs. It’s about choosing people you’ll genuinely enjoy having beside you.
Booking early also allows us to become part of your planning process rather than simply arriving on the wedding day. As your plans evolve, we’re there to help with photography coverage, timing and the overall flow of the day. If you’re working with a planner or day-of coordinator, we’ll happily collaborate with them so everyone is working toward the same vision.
The more preparation that happens before your wedding, the less you’ll have to think about when the day finally arrives.

Beautiful Wedding Photographs Are Only Part of the Story
It’s easy to fall in love with an Instagram feed, and that’s exactly what it’s was designed to do.
What social media can’t show is what it’s actually like to spend eight, ten or twelve hours with your photographer.
Do they communicate well? Do they make you feel comfortable? Can they work seamlessly with your planner and the rest of your vendor team?
Those are the things that shape your experience, and they’re often the things couples remember long after the wedding is over.
That’s why we always encourage couples to ask to see complete wedding galleries.
A full gallery tells a much bigger story than a handful of highlight images ever can. You’ll see consistency from the beginning of the day to the very end, across different lighting conditions, weather and venues. More importantly, you’ll see how a wedding actually unfolds.

We’re always happy to share complete galleries in each of our signature collections:
- True Colour
- Toned Colour
- Black & White
Your wedding deserves to be remembered as a complete story, not just a collection of favourite images.
Finding the Right Fit Matters for your Wedding Photography
Photography is personal.
We’ll spend more time with you than almost anyone else on your wedding day, so the relationship matters every bit as much as the portfolio.
That’s why every couple begins with a complimentary connection consultation.
The goal isn’t to sell you a package. It’s to get to know each other.
We’ll talk about your wedding, your priorities and the experience you’re hoping to create. We’ll answer your questions, explain how we work and help you understand what coverage makes the most sense for your day.
We’re paying attention to something just as important.
How the conversation feels.
If it feels natural from the beginning, that’s usually a good sign your wedding day will too.

When we decide we’re a great fit for one another, the engagement session becomes the next step in building that relationship. By the time your wedding arrives, you won’t feel like you’re standing in front of strangers with cameras. You’ll feel like you’re spending the day with people who already understand your story.
Experience Creates Confidence and Helps Your Wedding Day Feel Effortless
Beautiful photographs are only part of what we do. Understanding how a wedding day feels from the inside is just as important.
Over the years, we’ve learned that the best days rarely feel rushed. They have a natural rhythm. There’s time to laugh with your wedding party, hug your grandparents and steal a quiet moment together before heading into the next part of the day.
We spend time building a timeline that works for you, not the other way around. We collaborate with your planner, coordinator and vendor team so everyone is moving toward the same goal, while leaving enough flexibility for the moments you never could have planned.
When you’re free to enjoy your wedding instead of watching the clock, that’s when the best photographs happen.
A Great Experience Lasts Longer Than the Wedding Day
The photographs may be what you take home, but they aren’t the only thing you’ll remember.
You’ll remember how you felt and whether the day felt calm or rushed. You’ll remember whether you had time to soak it all in and whether you were able to be fully present with the people you love.
Everything that happens before the wedding matters just as much. The planning, the conversations and the little details all help create an experience that’s every bit as meaningful as the photographs themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should we book?
Most of our couples book anywhere from 3 to 36 months before their wedding. If you’re planning a wedding between June and mid-October, or on a holiday weekend, we’d recommend reaching out once your venue is booked.
What if we haven’t booked our venue yet?
We’re always happy to connect before everything is finalized.
We’ll answer your questions, talk through your plans and help you understand what to expect. Before we accept a retainer and countersign your contract, your venue must be booked. Your venue confirms your wedding date, and your retainer reserves that specific date exclusively for you.
Do you offer consultations before booking?
Absolutely.
Every couple begins with a complimentary connection consultation. It’s an opportunity to get to know each other, talk through your plans and answer every question you have. We believe choosing your wedding photographer should be an informed decision, never one made under pressure. Our goal is simply to give you everything you need to decide whether we’re the right fit for your wedding.
What if we don’t know how many hours of coverage we need?
You’re in good company. Most couples aren’t sure, and that’s completely normal.
We’ll build a timeline together and recommend the amount of coverage that makes the most sense for your day. If you decide you need more time as your plans come together, additional coverage can always be added.
How do we know if we’re the right fit?

By the end of your consultation, you should have a pretty good feeling.
Did the conversation feel easy?
Did you feel listened to?
Can you picture us standing beside you on your wedding day?
If the answer is yes, you’re probably on the right track.
